Martina Navratilova, USA Born :1956 in Prague, Czechoslovakia.A powerful left hander who dominated the women`s game during the 1980`s. With her penetrating sliced serve and overpowering volleys she showed the virtues of strength training and diet in developing superior fitness on the court.Winner of 18 Grand Slam singles,  a record 9 Wimbledon titles and 7 WTA Finals, Navratilova was World No1 for 5 consecutive years. She was also a marvellous doubles player. A strong candidate for the greatest ever women`s champion. In 2006 at the age 0f 49 she won her 59 Grand Slam final with victory in the US Open mixed doubles.
